On Saturday, Nov. 9, an armed robbery was reported in the A Building parking lot.
According to a message sent out by Terrance Schneider, Chief of Police, the suspect fired shots into the victim’s vehicle and fled towards the parking deck near A Building.
No one was hurt during the armed robbery according to a campus spokesperson.
Messages were sent out initiating a soft lockdown for all personnel on campus.
The lockdown lasted approximately 45 minutes before an all-clear message was sent out at 12:35 p.m.
Once the message was sent, incoming GGC students and parents at orientation were informed that they were welcome to stay or leave.
Many stayed and orientation continued as normal, and students were able to sign up for classes for the upcoming semester.
Police are still looking for the suspect.
