The fall semester has started, and we all know what that means: It’s English Mixer time!
Every semester, Assistant Professor of English, Kristene McClure, sends an email out to English major and minor students to chat, grab food, and get to know their peers.
On Sept. 6, English majors, minors, and faculty will gather at the Universal Joint in Downtown Lawrenceville from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“These mixers offer students an opportunity to socialize with peers and English Faculty,” Dr. McClure wrote in the email.
“The GGC English Club exists for anyone interested in the English discipline — any major, any classification,” the GGC English Club Facebook bio states.
The English Club will hold its first meeting on Sept. 3 from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. in B-1800.
According to the English Clubs’ constitution, their main mission is: “Engage students to explore opportunities and other interests related to the English discipline.”
The club aims to foster academic and creative development as well as “enhance [students’] awareness of the study of English and related fields.”
Casey Watkins, English Club President, and Sigma Tau Delta Vice President wrote in an email that this year they will be hosting a “book swap.”
